[Review] Possets - Portrait of Jane Small (Holbein)

Collection: Summer of Elegance 2015
Status: Only available during Retour
Purchased: 6ml bottle direct from Possets

Notes: This is a deep summer peach scent which opens with the awakening properties of the peach pit (it tastes like bitter almond and smells that way because it is full of cyanide so don't eat one). Then the succulent, sweet summery smell of peach comes blooming out of the blend. There are actually three sorts of peach scents in here, and a couple of secret pushing fragrances which will bring the whole into a divine peach feel, as well as a skin musk. I think you will like this one very much. Foody and fruity and luscious

In the bottle: It's tart! I get all the peach, with a little sugar.

On my skin: It's still all peach but it's a bit... cloying. There's something in this that reminds me of furniture polish at first. High end furniture polish though. Like when you walk into the lobby of a rather expensive hotel. As it dries the peach becomes softer and I think there's perhaps vanilla coming through? It's a velvety peach scent now, all buttery and yummy. There's a delicious baking scent floating around me, but if I put my wrist to my nose I still get that furniture polish. It's odd. Twenty minutes in and the polish smell disappears completely and all I'm left with is the scent of baked goodness. I've never tasted peach pie (I don't even know if such a thing exists), but I swear I have one baking in the oven.

Throw: High
Longevity: 5-6 hours on my skin.

Summary: All the peach! Something weirdly resembling furniture polish to begin with, but oooh... that dry down. Baked peach amazeballs!

Verdict: Heh, I know this is a scent from the Summer of Elegance collection, but I can totally see this becoming my Holy Grail scent for Autumn (or Fall if you're not from the UK)! I'm especially looking forward to wearing this in an evening once the clocks go back and I've had to walk home from work in the dark. Another full bottle I absolutely don't regret buying.
