[Review] Possets - Leda and the Swan (da Vinci)

Collection: Summer of Elegance 2015
Status: Only available during Retour
Purchased: 6ml bottle direct from Possets

Notes: Red and perfect strawberry juice with a goodly background of the green frill of the berry, a new and green earthy patchouli, a little fig to sweeten the mix, a background of white musk. A divinely sexy thing over which to lose one's mind for a while in sweet relief. A bit naughty but the consequences could be mighty

In the bottle: I get sugary strawberries. It's vaguely aquatic, though I'm not sure what I'm smelling to make me think that. Mostly I just get strawberries and sugar. It's a very sweet scent.

On my skin: On my skin... strawberries. I really don't get anything but strawberries to start with. As it dries though, whoa! The patchouli totally comes through. Seriously! This is genuine in your face caps-lock and everything PATCHOULI! I could actually taste it. Honestly, I had patchouli in the back of my throat for about five minutes. I mean, I like patchouli, I'd even go as far as to say I love it. But that was intense! Give those little strawberries their due though, 'cause even through all that patchouli, they were fighting like crazy to be noticed and doing a pretty good job of it, too. Go, strawberries! Half an hour in, thankfully the patchouli calms down and mingles with the musk. It becomes quite a refreshing, though a bit candle-like, scent. I like it, but I'm not sure it's something I'd ever wear outside the house. It might be a nice scent for rainy days stuck inside with a book. Yes, I think that's what it reminds me of actually. Afternoons spent curled up on the settee with nothing but a patchouli incense stick, a good book and a cup of Earl Grey for company. Damn my pesky job getting in the way of doing this all the afternoons!

Throw: High
Longevity: 5 hours

Summary: Strong patchouli with a bit of strawberry and a hint of musk. If you love patchouli, this is totally your jam.

Verdict: Since I opted for a 6ml bottle of this, I have a heap of rainy days curled up with a good book to look forward to!
